I need to change a score after results were published

Reopen the round from the Round Hub with a short reason, fix the score, then publish corrected results. Every prior revision and payment is kept

Short answer. Published results are locked, so the scorecard refuses with "This round is closed. The commissioner can reopen it from the round hub to make changes." The Commissioner reopens the round with a written reason, the card unlocks, you make the correction, and then you publish again. The new result becomes revision 2; revision 1 and any recorded payments stay in the history.

Why it happens

Only raw strokes are stored. Every result is recomputed from them, so a corrected score simply produces a corrected result. To stop quiet edits, a published round can only be changed through an audited correction: the reason, the previous official result and any change in who owes whom are kept, and money already marked paid is never rewritten.

What to do

  1. Open the Round Hub, tap ••• and choose Reopen round. The prompt reads "Why are you reopening this round? This note is kept with the correction history. Published season standings stay visible while you make corrections and will be recalculated when you republish." Write 3 to 500 characters. Too short returns "Add a short reason for the correction."
  2. Confirm "Reopen this finalized round?". The current result is withdrawn and the round returns to live scoring.
  3. Fix the score on the scorecard. The usual rules apply: the group's scorekeeper, the Commissioner or a co-organizer, or the player on their own card.
  4. Go back to the Results page and tap Publish final results. The confirm reads "Publish corrected results? This replaces the current official snapshot with revision N+1…". Success reads "Corrected results published".
  5. Look at Settle up afterwards. Ringer does not edit a recorded payment. If someone paid $10 and the corrected golf says they owed $2, a new $8 transfer appears the other way. Rows marked "Recorded" stay paid.

If a step is refused

  • "Only an organizer can reopen a round." Ask the Commissioner or a co-organizer.
  • "This round already has an open correction." The round is already reopened. Make the change and publish.
  • "Results are published. Open a result correction before changing an award." A contest award needs the same reopen first.
  • League weeks: a finalized week's status and participation credit also require this correction flow first.
  • Share links made before the correction keep showing the revision they were made for. Send a fresh link after republishing.

Season standings recalculate when you republish. A recap written for the earlier result is marked "This Wall of Shame was written for an earlier result — the round's official numbers have since been corrected." and can be re-run.
