Short answer. Open Create, tap Play golf, and walk through six short screens: course, when, who's playing, groups and tees, games, and a review. Tap Start round at the end. Nothing is created until you do.
Steps
- Open Create and tap Play golf ("Solo, one group, or multiple tee times").
- Where are you playing? Pick your home course, a recent course, a nearby course, or search by name. See Find your course.
- When are you playing? Choose Today, Tomorrow or Choose date, then set the opening tee time in 5-minute steps. If you don't know it yet, tick "I don't know the tee time yet". You can also add a round name; otherwise Ringer names it "[Course name] round".
- Who's playing? You are always row 1, marked "(You)" and "· Host". Tap "Add a player" to search Ringer or add a guest, or "Import players" from a photo, screenshot or pasted list.
- Your groups. Ringer makes groups of up to four in roster order, starting every 10 minutes from your opening time. Give every player a tee. See Choose tees.
- What are you playing? The default is "No money game — Ringer will track the round without stakes." Tap + Add a game to add Match Play, Skins, Nassau, Stableford, a Stroke Play Pot, Team Best-Ball, 9-Point or Sixes.
- Ready to play. Check the course, time, players, groups and game terms, then tap Start round.
How it works
- If your tee time is more than 15 minutes away, or on a future date, the button reads Schedule round instead. The round is saved and waits in the Round Hub until you start it.
- Group rounds land on the Round Hub. A solo round that starts now opens straight onto the scorecard.
- Once the round is created, every guest with an email gets an invite email, and guests with a mobile number get a text if texts are enabled for your deployment.
- Your draft is saved as you go, so a reload doesn't lose it. Closing the flow early asks "Discard this round setup?"
Good to know
- A date before today sends you to Add a past round, which creates a solo round and opens the scorecard with the photo picker ready.
- You can add up to 40 players in one go. Handicaps and tees can be adjusted later from the Round Hub.
If it doesn't work
- "That time has already passed. Choose a later time." The opening time is earlier than now. Pick a later time or a later date.
- "Choose a tee for the player / all N players before continuing." Every player on a listed course needs a tee before you can leave the groups screen.
- "Add up to 40 players at a time." Trim the roster and add the rest from the Round Hub after the round is created.
- "Could not create the round." Something failed on the way in. Nothing half-made is left behind; try again.
