Short answer. On the "Where are you playing?" screen you'll see Your home course, Recent and Nearby courses. If yours isn't there, type at least two letters into Search courses. Tap a course to select it.
Steps
- Open Create → Play golf.
- Look under Your home course (from your profile), Recent (courses from your last 40 rounds, up to 6) and Nearby (within 30 miles, if you allow location).
- Otherwise type the course or club name in Search courses. Results appear after two characters. Ringer's own courses come first, then courses from the wider directory.
- Tap the course. Ringer checks its scorecard and moves you to the When screen.
How it works
Each row shows a status chip:

Ringer only accepts a complete scorecard: exactly 9 or 18 holes plus at least one usable tee. When you pick a directory course, Ringer imports and saves its tees and holes so the next person finds it faster.
Good to know
- If the same facility appears twice, that is usually a club with more than one course. Pick the specific course you're playing.
- Search results sort Ringer Confirmed first, then complete scorecards, then the rest by distance.
- A course can be confirmed later from Manage. Only an organizer of a round on that course can confirm it. See My course isn't listed or has no scorecard.
If it doesn't work
- "No matching courses yet." Nothing matched your search. Try the club name instead of the course name, or tap Course not listed? under "Can't find your course?".
- "Couldn't load that course's scorecard. Try again, or add the printed scorecard." The directory didn't return a usable card. Tap again, or add the scorecard yourself.
- "The course listing and scorecard data don't agree, so Ringer can't safely score it. Add the printed scorecard to continue." Use the Add scorecard button to enter the card from the printed version.
- "Add the missing scorecard details to continue." Ringer opens the scorecard setup screen so you can fill in the gaps.
- "That course is no longer available." or "That Ringer course is no longer available." The listing has gone. Search again.
- "Sign in again to choose a course." Your session expired. Sign in and pick the course again.
