Short answer. Open the week, review the requests, and confirm the field. Nothing locks on a timer; the field is set when you confirm it. After that you handle scratches one at a time, and after play only the commissioner can correct participation, with a reason.
Steps
- Open Club → your league → Manage → Schedule → the week. The Round Hub checklist ("Ready for Thursday", using your rhythm's weekday) starts with Field.
- Check the count. "{n} of {min} players · Awaiting signups" becomes "{n} players · Ready for field review" once the minimum is met.
- Confirm the field using the round's allocation policy:
- First come. Requests are ordered by arrival. To move someone, add a short reason (at least 8 characters). Your draft is kept in this browser session.
- Commissioner's choice. Tick the players you want.
- Allocate by policy. Let Ringer fill the field by the policy (first come, fair play, new player).
- Confirm. Confirmed players can now receive confirmations, payment requests and, once groups are published, scoring links.
How it works
- Minimum and capacity. Both are 1 to 1,000 per round and start from the rhythm. The minimum can only change before confirmation.
- Waitlist. If a confirmed player drops, promote the next eligible golfer. With automatic promotion on, Ringer does it for you.
- Override one signup. Set any signup to confirmed, waitlisted, declined or no-show.
- Someone can't play after confirmation. Mark them unavailable with a reason, withdrew or no-show. This works until scoring starts. Players can also mark themselves out with the can't-make-it link in their confirmation, which flags the field and groups for your review.
- After play. Participation corrections (for example crediting a golfer who played but wasn't confirmed) are commissioner-only and need a reason of 4 to 500 characters. A finalized round must be reopened through the correction flow first.
Who can do this
Confirming the field, allocation and minimums: commissioner or co-commissioner. Participation corrections after play: commissioner only.
Good to know
- Once a score is saved the field can't be replaced. Late changes go through unavailability or participation corrections.
- Changing the field after groups are published puts "The field changed since groups were published" on the checklist. Republish groups.
If it doesn't work
- "Select at least {min} players before confirming." / "Select no more than {max} players before confirming." Adjust the selection, or the round's minimum and capacity.
- "The field is below the minimum players for this round. Update the minimum or collect more requests."
- "Add a short reason for changing first-come order." Reordering needs a reason.
- "The request list changed. Refresh before confirming the field." / "Another manager changed the field. Refresh before confirming." Someone else acted; refresh.
- "The field is locked." / "The field is locked. Use a commissioner override for individual changes." Already confirmed; use overrides.
- "Scores are already saved for this round. The field cannot be replaced after scoring starts; no-shows and incomplete rounds need a separate participation correction."
- "There is nobody eligible on the waitlist." / "Another commissioner already filled this opening. Refresh to see the field."
- "Scoring has started, so the playing field is locked." Unavailability can't be recorded after scoring; use a participation correction.
- "Sign in as the commissioner to change participation." Commissioner only.
- "Reopen the round before changing participation." / "Reopen the season before changing participation credit." Reopen through the correction flow first.
