Short answer. A club is the venue or organization. Inside it live communities, either crews or leagues. A league runs seasons, and a season is a series of weeks. Each week is a round on the course, played in groups, with games layered on top.
How it works
The ladder
| Level | What it is |
|---|---|
| Club | The venue or organization. Your account is never a club; you are a member of one. The club's time zone governs season and week dates. |
| Community | A group inside the club. Crews are casual; leagues are structured. |
| League | A community that runs seasons. Only leagues have seasons. |
| Season | One competition with its own scoring rules, ranked field and playing rhythm. Its status is upcoming, active or closed. |
| Week (round) | One playing day in a season. Commissioner screens say "Week"; player screens say "Round". They are the same thing. |
| Group | A playing group built from the week's confirmed field. |
| Game | A competition inside the round, such as Net Fourball or Skins. Teams live inside games. |
Five different lists of people
A league keeps five separate lists, and being on one does not put you on the next.
- League roster. Who belongs to the league.
- Season field. Who is ranked in the standings for that season.
- Week field. Who is playing this week, from signups and RSVPs.
- Playing groups. Who tees off together.
- Competition teams. Who is paired inside a game, such as Net Fourball partners.
Being on the roster does not put you in the standings. Being in the standings does not put you in this week's field. Standings list roster members who aren't ranked separately, sorted by name.
Which season you see
When a league has more than one season, Ringer shows the one the commissioner pinned. Otherwise it shows the active season that contains today, then the nearest upcoming season, then the most recently closed one. A season is named "{year} Season" unless the commissioner renames it.
Good to know
- A league is joined through its registration or invite link, not by browsing and tapping join. See Join a club or league.
- Standings are kept per league. There is no club-wide table that combines leagues.
- The season's points, each week's field and the playing groups are managed in separate steps. Start with League roles to see who does what.
