A crew is your private, standing group of golf friends, saved once with their handicaps and ready to add to any game

Short answer. A crew is the group you actually play with, kept in one private place. Make one so your regulars, and their handicaps, are saved once and show up under Your crew every time you set up a game.

How it works

Crews are private. The Crews page says it plainly: "Your private groups — members only, never public." A crew can stand on its own, or it can belong to a Club, in which case only active Club members can join it.

A crew holds two kinds of people:

  • Registered members, who have a Ringer account and joined by link.
  • Saved friends, who do not have an account yet. You add them by name, with an optional email, handicap and GHIN number. They can still be added to a game.

You reach your crews from Profile → Affiliations, not from the tab bar.

The crew hub

Each crew has a hub with a cover photo, its name, a line like "4 members · Pine Valley", and two tabs.

  • Crew shows a Next Game card. When a game linked to the crew is coming up it reads "Next Game" with Open Game and RSVP; when one is underway it reads "Live now" with Open live Game. With nothing scheduled it says "No next Game yet" and offers Plan a game. Below that, Recent rounds lists completed 18-hole rounds by registered members. Until someone plays: "When your crew plays, their rounds show up here."
  • Members is the roster, with the invite tools, ownership controls, and Leave crew.

Why make one

  • No retyping. The New game player picker lists your saved crew players with their handicaps, so building a foursome is a few taps.
  • One link to join. Share the crew's join link once and your regulars join themselves. See Create a crew, share the join link, manage roles.
  • The next game in one place. Everyone in the crew can see what is coming up and open it to RSVP.
  • Nothing goes out uninvited. Adding a friend to a crew does not email or text them. Invites only go out when you send one from a game.

Good to know

  • Standalone crews are collaborative: every member can manage the roster. Only the owner can pause, close or rotate the join link, hand over ownership, or delete the crew.
  • Members' names and handicaps are visible to everyone in the crew. Email addresses and GHIN numbers are visible only to those who manage it.
  • Deleting a crew removes the crew and its roster. Everyone's games and round history stay exactly as they are.
