  3. Create a crew, share the join link, manage roles

Short answer. Go to Profile → Affiliations → Crews, tap Start a crew, name it, and share the join link from the Members tab. Anyone with the link joins with one tap. Ringer does not send crew invitations for you; you send the link yourself.

Steps

Create the crew

  1. Open Profile → Affiliations → Crews and tap Start a crew.
  2. Enter a Crew name (up to 60 characters, for example "Saturday Regulars") and, if you like, a Home course.
  3. Tap Create crew. You become the crew's owner.
  1. Open the crew, switch to the Members tab, and tap Add & invite.
  2. Under the crew invite link, tap Share or Copy. Paste it into your group chat or a text.
  3. The owner can also Pause, Close, Reopen or Rotate the link. Rotating issues a new link and the old one stops working immediately. Closing stops the link admitting anyone until it is reopened.

Join a crew

  • From a link. Tap it. The "Join a crew" page shows the crew's name and home course. Tap Join Crew. If you are signed out you will be asked to sign in and then returned.
  • From a code. On the Crews page, paste the code or the full link into Invite code or link and tap Join crew.
  • Club crews. If the page says "This Crew belongs to a Club. An active Club membership is required before you can join.", ask a Club owner or administrator to confirm your membership first.

Add friends who are not on Ringer

From Add & invite, use Add a golfer manually (Name, Email (optional), Handicap, GHIN #), or Import a list with one friend per line as name | handicap | email | ghin. Only the name is required. No invite goes out; they are saved with their handicap so you can add them to games.

Who can do this

RoleWhat they can do

OwnerEverything above, plus pause, close or rotate the link, transfer ownership, and delete the crew

Crews that belong to a Club follow the Club's own permissions instead.

  • Transfer ownership. On the Members tab, open Crew ownership, choose a registered member, give a reason, tap Review ownership transfer, then Confirm ownership transfer. A saved friend without an account cannot own a crew.
  • Leave. Tap Leave crew on the Members tab. The last owner must transfer ownership first.
  • Delete. Owners can delete a standalone crew. Everyone's games and history stay as they are.

If it doesn't work

  • "Give your crew a name." The name field is empty.
  • "That name is too long." Keep the crew name under 60 characters.
  • "That invite code isn't valid." Check for a typo, or ask the owner whether the link was rotated or closed.
  • "That invite isn't available to this account." The crew belongs to a Club you are not an active member of.
  • "Fix N line(s) and try again." A line in your import is missing a name, has a handicap outside -10 to 54, or has a malformed email. Fix the lines listed and import again.
  • "Transfer ownership to another registered member before leaving. Open Crew ownership above." You are the last owner. Hand the crew to someone first.
