- Getting started
- I got an invite link. Do I need an account?
Short answer. No. An invite link is the whole invitation. Open it, add your name, and tap I'm in. You are on the roster with no account, no app and no code. You can create an account later and your spot comes with you.
Steps
- Tap the link your host sent. The page says "You're invited" with the game name, who invited you, the date and tee time, the course, and Who's in so far.
- Fill in Your name. Everything else is optional:
- Mobile and Email, so the host can reach you and so any later account links up.
- Index (your handicap, like
7.5or+2) and GHIN #, so net games and the money list are right. The Commissioner can confirm it later. - A checkbox to get text updates. It is off unless you tick it.
- Tap I'm in, Maybe or I'm out.
- You will see "You're in.", "Marked as maybe." or "Maybe next time." Done.
If the email you were sent already had an "in" or "out" button, the page opens with a Confirm I'm in or Confirm I'm out card. Tap it to confirm.
How it works
- Your answer is saved against the phone number or email you entered. Changing your mind? Open the same link and answer again.
- After you answer, the page says "Your RSVP is saved. Sign in or create an account to return to this invitation. Account linking and Club approval may still be required." Keep the link handy; it is your way back.
- Scorekeeper links and the board link work the same way. If your host makes you scorekeeper for your group, the link they send opens the scorecard without a sign-in.
- Already have an account? Sign in first and the RSVP is tied to it automatically, and you get a receipt email when your answer changes.
Good to know
- If you later create an account with the same email, or sign in with the same mobile number using Have an invite? Continue with phone, your spot attaches to your account. See I played as a guest and then signed up.
- The host can also add your name to the roster directly. In that case there may be nothing for you to do.
If it doesn't work
- "Add your name so your group knows who's coming." The name field is empty.
- "Pick in, out, or maybe." Tap one of the three buttons.
- "Add your mobile number to get text updates (or uncheck the box)." You ticked the text box without a number.
- "Too many responses — give it a minute and try again." The link has been answered many times in the last minute. Wait and try again.
- "This invite link is no longer valid." The game was deleted or the link was replaced. Ask your host for a fresh one.
- "Couldn't save your RSVP — please try again." A momentary error. Try once more.
- "You need an invite to RSVP to this outing." You are signed in to an account that is not on this game's roster. Ask the host to invite the email or phone on your account, or answer as a guest while signed out.
