The scorekeeper link: score for your group with no account

The Commissioner shares one link per group so the scorekeeper can keep the card in a browser without signing in

  3. The scorekeeper link: score for your group with no account

Short answer. The scorekeeper link opens a live scorecard for one group in any browser. No app, no account. The Commissioner shares it from the Round Hub or Manage, and whoever holds it can record scores for everyone in that group.

Steps

  1. Open the outing. On the Round Hub tap Share scoring link ("One scorekeeper can record scores for the whole group. No app required."), or go to Manage → Groups and use Share group scorecard / Share scorekeeper link.
  2. Pick the group, then copy the link or send it by email or text.
  3. The scorekeeper opens the link on their phone. The card looks and works like the in-app scorecard: one hole per screen, tap a score, it saves.

The link looks like https://www.ringer.golf/play/…/…?k=…. It is tied to exactly one outing, one round and one group, and the app checks it on every save, so a link for Group 2 cannot write scores for Group 1.

How it works

The public card has the same features as the in-app scorecard:

  • The score stepper and number pad, with the same "Hole complete" footer.
  • Autosave with an offline queue, so a dropped signal does not lose a score. See Scoring with a weak signal.
  • The 15-minute tee-time lock and the "We're going early" unlock.
  • Photo scorecard import on group links.
  • Game context, so the scorekeeper can see what is in play on each hole.
  • A read-only bridge to the Board and Results, so the group can check standings without the write link leaking.

While it loads you will see "Restoring scorecard…".

Some league rounds send each player their own link rather than one per group. Everyone can open the card and follow immediately. The first person who enters a score automatically becomes the scorekeeper. If someone else is already scoring, a compact "[Name] is keeping score" row offers an explicit Take over action; the card stays read-only until that handoff. League cards also add a Submit group card → Confirm completed card step so a second person checks the card.

Who can do this

Only the Commissioner or a co-organizer can share or copy a scorekeeper link. Anyone holding the link can score for that group.

If it doesn't work

  • "Set up playing groups before sharing a scorecard." Links are per group. Build groups in Manage first.
  • "Only an organizer can share scorekeeper links." / "Only an organizer can copy scorekeeper links." Ask the Commissioner to send it.
  • "That group isn't part of this round." The group was removed or rebuilt. Ask for a fresh link.
  • "Scorekeeper links aren't configured on this deployment." Links are switched off where you are. Score in the app instead.
  • "Enter a valid email." / "Enter a valid phone number." Check the address or number and send again.
  • "Invalid scoring link." / "Outing not available." / "That player isn't in this group." The link is stale or the roster changed. Ask the Commissioner for the latest link.
  • "The scorekeeper changed. Refresh and try again." / "Scoring was handed over. Refresh the card before making more changes." Someone else claimed the card on a personal link. Refresh, then choose Take over if you should be scoring.
  • "This group changed. Ask your commissioner for the latest link." Pairings moved after the link was issued.
  • "Your scorecard couldn't load" Tap Try again to reopen your group's saved scores. If it keeps happening, ask your Commissioner to check the round's course and handicap setup.
