Short answer. Open the scorecard, tap each player's score for the hole, and move on when the footer says "Hole complete". Every tap saves on its own. Strokes run from 1 to 20.

Steps

  1. Open the outing and tap into the scorecard. The header shows the course, "Group N · tee time", the hole with its par and stroke index, previous and next arrows, and a Choose hole grid for jumping around. A switch flips to the live leaderboard.
  2. For each player, use the inline picker centred on par: ‹ birdie · par · bogey ›. The arrows shift the window up or down.
  3. Need something off the picker? Tap the player's name (or long-press a candidate) to open the number pad. It runs 1 to 10 with labels Ace, Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey, Double, plus Pick up (N) and Clear.
  4. Watch the little indicator next to each player: ✓ saved, · saving, ! not saved.
  5. When the footer reads "Hole complete", tap Next hole. It lights up once everyone has a score. On the last hole it becomes Review round → Review results →.

How it works

  • Clearing a score. Tap the already-selected score and Ringer asks "Clear [name]'s score? This hole will return to incomplete." Choose Keep score or Clear score.
  • Reading the card. Under-par scores are red with circles (a double circle for eagle); over par gets squares (double square for double bogey or worse). Gold dots mark handicap strokes on that hole, hollow red rings mark a plus player giving strokes back, and a teal dot marks a counted team ball.
  • Order of holes. The card nudges you to keep things tidy with "Enter hole N for everyone before hole M." and an "Hole N incomplete" footer, but it does not stop you. You can enter holes in any order, which also lets offline saves land whenever they arrive.
  • Pick up. The pad's pick-up value is par + 3 under a Triple cap, par + 2 + strokes under Net double, and par + 2 otherwise. The round-wide Max score per hole setting (Off, Net double "Par +2 +strokes", Double "Gross par +2", Triple "Gross par +3") only changes the game math. Everyone enters real scores; the cap applies to the games.
  • Games in play. When a money game, contest, or Trash is configured, the card shows "Games in play" with per-hole context and Trash awards (Greenie, Sandy, Barkie, Chippie, Polie). Gross birdies are awarded automatically.
  • Scorecard options. The options sheet has a group switcher for managers, Upload card photo, and Follow Live.

Who can do this

The group's scorekeeper for their group, any Commissioner or co-organizer for any group, and every player for their own card. A manager sees a Scoring group switcher at the top of the scorecard and can score any group.

If it doesn't work

  • "You're not in a group for this round." Ask the Commissioner to add you to a group.
  • "No groups yet — the commissioner sets those up." Groups have not been built. Nothing to score until they are.
  • "This round's course doesn't have a verified scorecard yet, so hole-by-hole scoring isn't ready." The course card is missing or partial. The Commissioner sees "Verify the course card →"; players see "Ask your commissioner to verify the course."
  • "Enter a valid stroke count." Scores must be between 1 and 20.
  • A score shows ! not saved: see Scoring with a weak signal.
