Join a club or league

Join a club with an invite code or a membership request, then join a league through the registration link its commissioner shares

Short answer. You join a club with an invite code or link, or by finding the club and requesting membership. You join a league through the registration link its commissioner shares. Leagues are not open-join.

Steps

Join a club

  1. If you have an invite, open the link, or go to Club and paste the invite code or link.
  2. If you don't, go to Club → Find, pick your club and request membership. Depending on the club, Ringer may match you against the club's GHIN roster before the request goes through.
  3. While a request is pending, Club shows it with a withdraw option. Once approved, your club membership is active.

Join a league

  1. Open the league's registration link from your commissioner. It opens a public form; you don't need to be signed in.
  2. Fill in your name, email, phone and Handicap Index, and confirm you are a member of the club. A note to the commissioner is optional (under 500 characters). Tick the text-message box if you want league texts.
  3. Send it. Depending on the league's settings you are either added straight away or placed in a queue for the commissioner's approval. The commissioner is alerted to every request.
  4. If the link carried a specific round, your request also asks for a spot in that round, and you may be asked to pick your tees.

Good to know

  • A commissioner can add you to a league roster directly by email, without you registering. If you don't have an account yet, a placeholder profile is created that you claim when you sign up.
  • If you belong to more than one club, switch between them from the Club screen.
  • If your access is limited you see a status card instead of the club: "Club access paused" (suspended), "Former Club" (you left), "Club activation" (request pending) or "Club unavailable" (the club is not active on Ringer).

If it doesn't work

  • "That invite code isn't valid." Check the code or ask for a fresh link; invites can be paused or rotated.
  • "That Club isn't accepting this request right now." The club has closed requests. Ask a club owner or admin for an invite.
  • "This Club Community isn't available to join." Leagues need a registration link. Ask the commissioner.
  • "Confirm that you are a member of this Club." The checkbox is required.
  • "An official Handicap Index is required to register." / "Handicap should be between -10 and 54." Enter your current Index.
  • "That mobile number doesn't look right." Use a valid US mobile number.
  • "Registration for this League has closed." / "That registration link is no longer available." The deadline passed or the link was paused. Contact the commissioner.
  • "Contact the commissioner to update your existing registration or round request." You already registered; changes go through the commissioner.
  • "Too many responses — give it a minute and try again." Wait a minute before resubmitting.
