Short answer. Open the round, go to Manage, tap "Add game", pick the game, and set the stake. The stake stepper moves in $5 steps, or $1 steps for 9-Point. A stake of $0 means the game is played for pride and is left out of settle-up.
Steps
- Open the round from Rounds and go to Manage.
- Tap "Add game" and choose a game.
- Set the stake. The unit label next to the amount tells you what the number means.
- Nassau and Match Play need both sides; 9-Point needs 3 or 4 players; Sixes needs exactly 4.
- Save. The game appears on the board and in settle-up.
How it works
The stake means something different for each game. Ringer never multiplies a stake by accident, so it helps to know the unit.
| Game | Unit | Default | What the number means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pot (Stroke) | buy-in | $10 | Each player antes this into one pot |
| Stableford | buy-in | $20 | Each player antes this into one pot |
| Team Best-Ball | buy-in | $20 | Every player on every team antes this |
| Skins | /skin | $5 | Each skin is worth this from every other player |
| Nassau | /side | $5 | Front, back, and total are each worth this |
| Match Play | match | $10 | The whole match is worth this per side |
| 9-Point | /point | $1 | Each point of difference between two players |
| Sixes | /player/six | $5 | Each player wins or loses this per six-hole match |
- Per player, always. A buy-in is per player, even in team games. A $20 buy-in with eight players is a $160 pot.
- Per side, not per person. A 2v2 Match Play match at $10 moves $10 in total, $5 from each loser to each winner. It is never $20 by accident.
- Skins has two modes. The live default is a direct wager per skin. A Commissioner can instead run a player-funded pot, where each player antes a buy-in and the pot is split by skins won.
- Decimals such as $2.50 are fine. Ringer does the math in cents.
Good to know
- The outing-level field "Buy-in · each player pays in" is a separate number used only by the Banker sheet. Once set it reads "Collects $X from N in · purses pay $Y ✓" or "… — off by $Z". It does not change how any game pays out.
- The $ / Paid toggle on the roster is bookkeeping only, shown as "$X buy-in · k/n paid". It does not affect settle-up math.
- Wolf, Banker, Hammer, Vegas, Scotch, and Track Any Bet are coming soon and cannot be added for money yet.
Who can do this
Only the Commissioner (the host or a co-commissioner) can add a game, set a stake, set the outing buy-in, or mark a buy-in paid.
If it doesn't work
- "That money game is not certified for live play yet." The game is coming soon. Pick one from the table above.
- "Choose both Nassau sides before adding the game." / "Choose both Match Play sides before adding the game." Pick a player (or pair) for each side.
- "9-Point requires exactly 3 or 4 unique players." / "Sixes requires exactly 4 unique players." Adjust the player list.
- "This round is finalized. Reopen it before adding a game." See Publish final results.
