Sign in, stay signed in, and sign out

Short answer. Sign in at www.ringer.golf with the same method you used to create your account. You stay signed in on that device until you sign out. To sign out, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Sign out.

Steps

Email and password

1. Open the sign-in screen ("Welcome back.").
2. Enter your email and password. The button stays greyed out until both are filled in.
3. Tap Sign in.

Continue with Apple

Tap Continue with Apple. In the iOS app this opens the native Apple sheet, so Face ID does the work. In a browser you are sent to Apple and back.

Phone code or email link

If a host invited you by phone or email and you never set a password, tap Have an invite? Continue with phone. This opens "Join your game".

1. Enter the mobile number your host used and tap Text me a code. US mobile numbers only.
2. Enter the 6-digit code from the text. It submits itself when the last digit goes in.
3. No code after a moment? Tap Resend code (there is a 30-second cooldown).

Prefer email? Tap Use email instead, enter the address your host used, and tap Email me a link. Tap the link in the email to sign in.

How it works

• There is no "keep me signed in" box. Once you are in, Ringer keeps you signed in on that phone or browser until you sign out. How long a quiet session lasts depends on the current setup.
• Use the same sign-in method every time. An account created with Apple is signed in with Apple; an account created with an email and password uses that email and password.
• Signing out on one device does not sign you out anywhere else.
• Signing out also stops push notifications for that account on that device.

Who can do this

Anyone with an account. Guests who only RSVP'd through a link do not need to sign in at all.

If it doesn't work

• "That email or password isn't right. Try again, or reset your password." Check for typos, then use Forgot password?.
• "Confirm your email first — check your inbox for the link we sent." Your account exists but the confirmation link was never tapped. Find the email (check spam). If it is gone or expired, request a new link with Forgot password?
• "Too many attempts. Wait a moment and try again." Sign-in is rate limited. Wait a minute.
• "Apple sign-in was cancelled." / "Apple sign-in failed." / "Couldn't start sign-in — please try again." Try Continue with Apple again. Closing the Apple sheet yourself shows no message.
• "Enter a valid US mobile number." Phone codes only work with US numbers, entered as 10 digits.
• "Enter the code we texted you." The code field is short. Enter all 6 digits.
• "Enter a valid email." Check the address on the email-link form.
• A sign-in link opened the plain sign-in screen. The link expired. Request a new one.
• Locked out entirely? Email support@ringer.golf from the address on the account.
