  3. Delete your account

Short answer. Tap the avatar in the top-right, then Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm with Delete forever. Your profile, every game you host, and your golf history are deleted permanently. There is no undo.

Steps

  1. Open Profile (the avatar, top-right).
  2. Tap the Settings icon (top-right of Profile).
  3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. A sheet asks "Delete your account?" and warns: "This permanently deletes your profile, hosted games and trips, and golf history. This cannot be undone."
  5. Tap Delete forever (or Keep account to back out).
  6. Ringer signs you out and returns you to the ringer.golf home page.

How it works

Deleting your account removes:

  • Your profile, handicap record, GHIN number and photo.
  • Every round and game you host, along with its roster, scores, games and results. Your crew loses those rounds too.
  • Your spots on other people's rounds. Rounds hosted by someone else survive without you on them.
  • Your crew memberships, saved devices for push notifications, and any invite codes you redeemed.

Anything you created inside someone else's round, such as a score you entered as scorekeeper, stays with that round but no longer carries your name.

Good to know

  • Hosting a round others still need? Finish it first. The round goes with you when you delete, and your crew will not be able to open it, its board or its results afterwards.
  • Running a league or club? Let your other Commissioners know before you delete, so nothing is left without an owner.
  • Profile photos and headshot originals are removed or de-identified within a reasonable period after deletion.
  • There is no in-app export. If you want a copy of your data first, email support@ringer.golf from the address on your account.
  • Would rather stop texts or emails than delete everything? Reply STOP to any text, or turn channels off under Profile → Settings → Notifications.
  • You can also ask support@ringer.golf to delete the account for you. Write from the account's email address.

Who can do this

Only you, signed in to the account. Nobody else in your crew, club or league can delete it.

If it doesn't work

  • "Not signed in." Your session ended before the deletion ran. Sign in and try again.
  • Any other message means the deletion did not complete. Try once more, and if it repeats, email support@ringer.golf.
