- My invite code doesn't work
Short answer. Depending on when you arrive, Ringer may be invite-only, and a new account waits at "Ringer is invite-only right now." until it is unlocked. An invite code from a member unlocks it. So does signing in with the phone number or email a host used to invite you to a round, which needs no code. If the code is refused, the message says why.
Why it happens
Codes are minted by Ringer with an optional use limit and can be switched off. They are not case-sensitive (the box uppercases what you type), but every character must match. Each code can be redeemed once per account.
What to do
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Enter your invite code." | The box is empty. |
| "That code isn't valid. Check it and try again." | Retype it exactly. Watch for O versus 0 and I versus 1. Ask the member who gave it to you to read it back. |
| "That code is no longer active." | The code was switched off. Ask for a current one. |
| "That code has already been fully used." | The code hit its use limit. Ask for another. |
| "You've already used that code." | This account already redeemed it. If you still see the waitlist, sign out and back in; if that does not help, email support@ringer.golf. |
| "Couldn't redeem that code — please try again." | A temporary problem. Tap Unlock Ringer again. |
| "Please sign in first." | Codes are redeemed from the waitlist page after you create an account. |
If you were invited to a game, you do not need a code. Open the invite link, or go to sign in, tap "Have an invite?" / Continue with phone, and use the number or email your host has for you. Ringer attaches your spot and unlocks the account in one step; the confirmation reads "Your host invited you, so you're all set — no code needed."
After a successful code you land on onboarding, if your deployment runs it, or on Today. Questions about access go to support@ringer.golf.
