- What is Ringer?
Short answer. Ringer is golf with your people. One person plans the round, shares a single link, and everyone else is in with a tap. From there Ringer keeps the scorecard live, runs the side games, works out who owes whom, and remembers how you played.
How it works
Ringer lives at www.ringer.golf and runs in any phone browser. There is an iOS app, and on any phone the website installs to your home screen and launches full-screen like an app. Your crew never needs an account to RSVP, keep score for a group, or watch the board. One link does the job. No codes.
Inside the app there are five places to be:
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Today | Your next game, your live round, and your handicap at a glance |
| Rounds | Every round you are part of, past and upcoming |
| Create | Start a round, add a past round, or find a course |
| Club | Your clubs, leagues and crews |
| Improve | Your form and how you are actually playing |
Your Profile sits behind the avatar in the top-right corner. Settings, notifications, security and your account live there.
What Ringer does for a round
- Planning. Name the game, pick the course and tees, set a tee time, and share the invite link. Players answer in, maybe or out.
- Live scoring. A scorekeeper enters gross scores hole by hole. Everyone else follows the board as it updates.
- Games. Stroke play, Stableford, match play, Nassau, skins, Nines, Sixes and team best ball, gross or net, with handicap allowances applied for you. Wolf, Banker, Hammer, Vegas, Scotch and Track Any Bet are coming soon.
- Money. Set a buy-in and Ringer nets the results into the fewest payments. Ringer never holds or moves money; a pay button just opens Venmo with the amount filled in.
- After the round. Results, a share card, a printable scorecard and a Recap.
- Leagues and clubs. Commissioners run seasons, weekly sign-ups, fields, groups and standings.
Good to know
- Only raw strokes are stored. Every result is recomputed from them, so nothing is ever miscounted quietly.
- Handicaps in Ringer are for friendly play and league nights. Ringer is not an official handicap authority and does not post scores to GHIN.
- Depending on when you arrive, Ringer may be invite-only. See Ringer is invite-only right now.
