Short answer. Team Best-Ball is "Best net balls count for the team". Ringer builds teams from your tee groups, adds the counting net balls on every hole, and the team with the lowest total wins the pot. Every player pays the same entry and a winning team's players share the pot.
How it works
On each hole Ringer adds the best N net balls on the team, where N is the counting balls setting. A hole is pending until N balls exist, so there is never a false lead off one ball. Team to-par is net − par × N; teams rank by to-par, then net, then holes played.
Teams are built in tee-group order and saved with the round; you can redraw them from Manage. A lone trailing player joins the previous team, and names are picked for you ("The Foxes", "The Wolves"). On a trip, totals are summed across every linked round.

Player count
Four or more players, at least two teams, and tee groups set before the game is added. Manage can rebuild, randomise or clear the teams.
How it's calculated
How the money is split
The pot is entry × every player on a team; a missing card blocks publishing rather than shrinking the pot.
- Winner take all: every player on every team tied for the low net splits the pot equally, per player, cent-exact.
- Placed: amounts for 1st, 2nd and so on, per team or per player; tied places pool the slots they span.
- Payout plan: places as a percentage of the pot, ties pooled. See How each pot is split.
It is a fixed pot, so in Banker settlement it settles through the host.
Worked example
Eight players, four 2-player teams, one counting ball, $20 entry: pot $160, Net at 85%. Alex is a Course Handicap 14, so his Playing Handicap is 14 × 0.85 = 11.9 → 12.
Hole 1, par 4: Alex nets 4, his partner Ben nets 5, so the team scores 4. Over 18 holes The Foxes (Alex and Ben) total net 68 and the next team 70. Alex and Ben each collect $80 and finish +$60; the other six players are −$20 each. Had two teams tied on 68, all four players would collect $40 and finish +$20.
Who can do this
The Commissioner adds the game, sets counting balls and payouts, and draws or redraws teams. Everyone sees the team module on the board.
If it doesn't work
- "Set tee groups before creating Team Best-Ball." / "Team Best-Ball needs at least two teams." Build groups first.
- "Close scoring before drawing partners." The blind draw waits for scoring to close.
- Every blind-draw message is listed in Game error messages, explained.
