Short answer. On the desktop dashboard, the Commissioner opens Round controls, picks a voice, and taps "Write the recap ✨". Ringer writes a short recap of the round using only what actually happened, and pins it to the outing page as "The Recap". Where recaps are enabled for your deployment, that is the whole job.
Steps
- Play a few holes. The recap needs results to write about.
- On the desktop dashboard, open Round controls. The option appears once games exist and the round is open or finished.
- Choose a voice from the style picker.
- Tap "Write the recap ✨".
- Read it on the outing page under "The Recap". Not the tone you wanted? Pick another voice and run it again; the new one replaces the old.
The seven voices

Every voice keeps to 90 to 150 words, uses only real numbers from the round, and allows at most one emoji. The Poet Laureate has been known to rhyme "bogey" with things that do not rhyme with bogey.
Who can do this
Only the Commissioner can write or rewrite the recap. Everyone with access to the outing page can read it.
Good to know
- The recap is different from the Commissioner's Recap on the Wall of Shame page, which is a longer roast with awards and per-player verdicts. That one has its own Interview (optional prompts, "lean into" and "keep out" notes, and a PG-13 or R rating) and its own Hide recap / Show recap control per round.
- There is also a separate Final round recap page with Results, Money, Handicaps and Story tabs; "Round story is not available yet…" means the story has not been generated.
If it doesn't work
- "Only the commissioner can write the recap." Ask the Commissioner.
- "No results yet — play a few holes first." There is nothing to write about yet.
- "AI recaps aren't set up yet — add ANTHROPIC_API_KEY in the environment." Recaps are not enabled on your deployment.
- "Recap failed (NNN). Check the API key." A service error. Try again shortly.
- "The model returned an empty recap." Run it again, perhaps in a different voice.
